Katrina's Product is...
I have a very keen interest in human physiology and with my background in Physiotherapy and sport science, I am keen to invest in the technical side of adaptation to ensure my training is maximised. Edge is a key component of my training plan as the tests provided will enable me to see the tangible improvements from this one aspect of my heavy endurance training programme.
Kat started triathlon in 2015 and after two years in the GB age-group fields, she ventured into the middle distance world, winning the National MD Champs in 2018 and qualifying for her GB Pro race license in 2019. Her first pro season saw her podium in three IM 70.3 races, win the ETU MD Champs, come 16th at the WC IM70.3 and complete her first full Ironman in a debut time of 8hrs53.
Katrina has a very keen interest in human physiology. With her background in Physiotherapy and sport science, she is keen to invest highly in the technical side of adaptation to ensure her training is maximised. In 2020, Katrina is trialing some altitude blocks for the first time.
Over the summer of 2020 Katrina was able to travel and train in the Italian Alps, prior to her planned race in November.
Katrina hopes to stimulate the altitude adaptations by using an altitude tent whilst sleeping.
Edge is a key component of this plan as the data the tests provide will enable Katrina to see the tangible improvements from this one aspect of her heavy endurance training programme.

I've been using Edge throughout my race season and it has been extremely helpful in identifying where there are deficiencies and where we can make potential performance improvements. The ease of the home testing kits just makes things so much better. It means we can keep track of all the key biomarkers every month, with quick results.
Age group champion, Ironman 70.3 South American Champs
In 2019 I overtrained and ended up with an excessive inflammation injury whilst training for an Ironman. I needed to take a long hard look at my preparation. Edge helps me identify when I’m pushing too hard, when I need a rest, or when I can still maintain the training intensity. As a result, I’ve managed a 3rd consecutive PB in my IM races and hit the start line feeling 100% ready – a very rare thing indeed!
Ironman World Champs Qualifier
Edge has helped me take out the guesswork on how my body is responding to both training and daily stresses. This objective scientific measure means I know longer worry about how I feel or whether I should or shouldn't do something, as I have the answer from my results.
2013 Duathlon World Championships, Amateur - Gold/1st
Edge has allowed me to regularly and easily keep a check of my iron levels, which is something I was struggling to do before without trips to the hospital. This means I can stop levels from becoming dangerously high, which is not only bad for my performance but also my health. It also means I can plan when to give blood to bring my levels back down, which obviously also has a negative effect on performance. Being able to plan these in for the off-season and away from racing was vital for me, and continues to be with the new challenges that I am undertaking with GTN.
